Lifestyle choices embracing food and exercise can certainly help you achieve your desired fitness, health and weight goals, yet none of this is possible without motivation.

Commitment and belief in yourself is what really counts when it comes to "Mind over Platter" and reclining on the couch.

But can you fulfil this new mind set alone? Probably not.

Experienced life coach and nutritionist, Steffi Mueller, owner/programme facilitator at Sys Motivation 4 U, says things need to be taken one step at a time by introducing small changes into your daily regime. There are no diets, just simple food choices to meet your needs and those of your family.

"I can motivate people to do the things they have always wanted to achieve but couldn't find the energy or simply didn’t know where to start on", says Steffi.

"The benefits cross boundaries that the whole family can relate too. If one person takes on the significant challenge to change their lifestyle, then the rest of the family gets involved."

Nutrition and Nordic Walking are the areas Steffi gets people to focus on, so they can "live to walk and walk to live".

Walk to a Healthier You, a 12-week challenge provides course participants with a one-on-one personal assessment, goal setting, exercise regime, and meal planning.

Clients who have never walked up Mount Maunganui before are often emotional when they reach the summit, with awesome views that shout "Yes! You did it!" reinforcing the goal that they just achieved.

"There is also a hint of dismay as they reflect on all the wonderful opportunities they have chosen to ignore over the years because of their obesity and lack of fitness."

With their determination fuelled by Steffi's awesome energy, clients can thwart the hidden agenda that often checks in when they don’t want to take ownership of that weak decisive moment.

"Losing weight is as easy as night follows day. If you increase your fitness and take on board a healthy attitude, you will automatically lose weight", says Steffi.

Participants must be uncomfortable with their weight or obese to significantly benefit from the course.
